With the bottles, we had the same issue going from Medela bottles to the Breastflow... my son was lazy and preferred the bottle that was less work. We stuck with the Medela bottles for a while and then transitioned to Playtex wide mouth ones. For now, I would just stick with what makes him happy. Once you can start breastfeeding, he will probably protest a bit because he has to work at it. :-) I would also try not to stress about getting every last ounce of formula into him, as long as he's gaining weight and producing wet diapers, then he's doing well.

Once you are off the meds and ready to start breastfeeding, I highly recommend surrounding yourself with supportive people. Make sure they understand that THIS is what you want to do and that they please refrain from suggesting formula to make it easier or giving up all together. You will have times where you feel like giving up, but if the people around you are there to remind you how badly you wanted to breastfeed, it can really make a difference. My DH being as supportive as he was was a big influence for me when I was struggling with breastfeeding in the beginning.

Take your time in writing your birth story. When you are ready, you will probably find it to be a cathartic experience and will help you heal from the experience. If anything, gazing at your son will help remind you that it has all been worth it. :-)alexhttp://www.alextebowblog.comnoreply@blogger.com
