Surprise from Mommy

Today I got a very unexpected visit from my mother. We live about 20 minutes away so it's always a treat when we see each other. Well this afternoon our doorbell rung which woke the hubby out of his hibernation (not good, he works nights). I asked if he was expecting anyone, he said no, so  I immediately thought it must have been my mother because my phone had went off literally seconds prior. Immediate reaction was that something must have been wrong, I don't know why I always think the worst of things but when I got to the door she was standing there with these...

A dozen white roses. I must admit I was still delusional from being awaken from my afternoon nap but it was a wonderful surprise. After the initial shock I invited her in but she declined saying she just wanted to drop them off. So I headed back upstairs to make lunch and put them in water, but I decided to call her. She said she was on her way to have lunch and wanted me to come but felt bad due to my reaction of her being at my door. I was a little p.o'd at first because I try not to go over people's house unannounced. I told her it was fine but next time to call ahead first (not while at the door lol) due to my hubby sleeping during the day, and he works 12 hr shifts so he likes to get EVERY little bit of sleep he can.

I felt bad because I knew she was just trying to do something special so I got dress and drove to meet her for lunch. The afternoon turned out well, after lunch we went to pick up a few groceries and she got the baby this cute onesie

She likes picking him up things every time we go out. I'm glad that an unexpected surprise (which I guess surprises shouldn't be expected right or it can't be a "surprise") turned out to be a wonderful afternoon spent with my mommy!

National Grandparents Day

This past Sunday was National Grandparents day. I've never celebrated it before because until this year I didn't know it existed. As you all know my Grandmother passed the week following my wedding. Actually today it's been exactly one month since she passed. It's been hard for me trying to cope and adjust to married life all at the same time. I will say that Mr. Motown has been extra extra supportive! Back to the point; On Sunday the grandchildren all went over my grandparents house to spend time with my grandfather and clean and cook for him. He was so surprised and something so small met the world to him. I was just happy to spend time with him. Losing a grandparent isn't easy at all but my heart goes out to my grandfather. I couldn't imagine losing my husband and we've only been married a month, him and my grandmother had been married 61 YEARS before she passed. I hope me and Mr. Motown can have any kind of love and longevity they had.

Living in a Nightmare

Okay so I've had some serious ups and downs leading up to the wedding. Well me and Mr. Motown returned from our mini moon last night to only this morning find out that my grandmother had passed away. I'm in shock, disbelief, denial you name it. I literally just seen her a week ago at my wedding. I'm soo glad that I have that memory as well as the rest of my family of her to keep with us. We were able to get one picture with her too which I'm grateful for because she had ran out of oxygen (her tank) so she couldn't go to the reception so luckily the photographer snapped a photo of me and the hubby with her and my grandfather. We are only one week into our marriage and we have already had a obstacle thrown our way.

I miss so much already and I'm just in and out of it. I know you all are think geez this is the most depressing wedding blog ever! I never knew how this blog would turn out. I was planning on doing recaps from the wedding and honeymoon until pro pics came back but yeah. So once again I am on time out as I deal with this lost and try to adjusted to married life.

I leave you with a picture of my grandmother and grandfather from my cousin's wedding some years ago. They have been married 60 years & this Nov. it would have been 61 years!!! That's the kind of longevity Mr. Motown and I are striving for!
